in Credit cards
OK, i've had credit cards for years and i've never set up a direct debit until now. It's set up to pay the full statement balance each month, I received my statement and payment will be taken on the 14th for the full statment balance. I have now received a refund for an item purchased in that statement period, will this be taken into account and reduce the direct debit figure taken?
Thanks for assistance.

That varies from card to card.
Some cards will adjust the DD in case of additional payments (in this case refund), others will take the DD regardless as advised on the due date. You will have to ask for the DD to be pulled-out and manually adjusted.

Depends on specific card T&Cs. You'll need to check those.0

If the DD was set up recently, make sure it is actually active. It's not unheard of delays before taking the first one.0

Good advice generally, but Lottie has already said that the statement says it will be taken by DD, so if it's not set up the responsibility lies with the CC company.
I would suggest that as this is the first DD to be taken you should ensure that the full amount as listed on the statement is available in your payment account on the specified date, they may take less than that to take into account the refund but better to be safe than sorry - and bear in mind that the DD date is the earliest that they will take it, it could come out up to a few days later.0
