Domain squatting variation?
The thing is that if a big company "lose" one of their domains like this, they are likely to take it back by legal force -- because they were the legitimate owners and users of that company name, trademark etc. and you aren't.
Although you may have "bought" the domain, they will challenge it with bigger lawyers and deeper pockets.
That is a quick way to LOSE money, not make it, sadly0 -
I dabbled with this a couple of years ago.
I bought about a dozen domains, trying to get single word domains and they were all .co extensions as this was new then and so more availability.
I sold one of them for around £100, the rest were not sold.
I paid around £5 for each domain so made a small profit.
It might be worthwhile if you can invest enough time and money into it, but it's far from guaranteed so I would steer clear unless you know what you are doing and have money that you don't mind losing.
Like a lot of things, money goes to money!
I had a friend who was making £1-200 a month out of it, but he didn't tell me how much he had invested!Make £2018 in 2018 Challenge - Total to date £2,1080 -
I don't think you will make much money doing this. The skill is in deciding which domains people will want to buy. When I was looking for a name for my website most of the ones I wanted had already gone.0

There is a site where a company asks for people to think of domain names and the one he choses gets paid I can't remember the site though but you'd be better off with that xEarnings since March 2014.

If you do find any expired domains with PR and DA then please message me, cash waiting!0

You could definitely make money through affiliate schemes. Making money from buying and selling domains is hard - especially a second income. Even generating a second income from a blog is fairly difficult and can be the equivalent of a full time job.

Thanks for your advice, folks.0

Doesn't sound very unemployed to me!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Hi,
In recent times, It has become a great business of buying and selling domains. And, it's a good way of generating a good amount of money. If you ask about what kind of domain should be bought then I would suggest old domains since the old domains have some authority and you do not have to put a lot of effort in order to rank them.
There are a lot of domain registrars such as godaddy.com, hostgator.com, namecheap.com, brandroot.com , etc. from where you can search and buy these old domains.0 -
I don't enjoy deflating your balloon but you are 20 years too late.
