Halifax PPI Un-succesfull

Recently received a letter from Halifax regarding PPI on a loan I had. Filled in the questionnaire and sent back to them prompt. Didn't hear anything back till this week when I received a letter through the post.

It stated that they had tried to contact me on the number I had given but as I never spoke to them on the phone they made the decision based on what information I gave them. This surely cant be right? Why not just send a letter regarding the information they need? Is their anything I can do?

Also like to state that they ring off a unknown number and leave no voicemail regarding getting in touch.

They look at their own records and they look at what you have told them. They look at the available evidence to support your complaint allegations. Some complaints need no clarification. Some may need some. Some complaint reasons have virtually no chance of success on that particular point (i.e. he said/she said type complaints). So, it really depends on what your complaint was and if you could have made any difference to the outcome by being able to supply evidence to support your complaint.
Is their anything I can do?

Their letter will answer your complaint and say why they are not upholding it. If you have evidence to counter that then go back to them and supply it.
