Help! Passive smoking from e-cigarettes ...

  • A cancer specialist chap was on the tv a few weeks ago saying that whilst he agreed more testing was needed, at least these things were better than "real" fags.
It's nearly 2 months for us and they are brilliant - however there is a huge difference between brands for taste and effetc.
OP you shouldn't have any problems unless you have children and don't want them to see them.

But have any of them been tested for ingestion into the lungs?

Quite a few (notably propylene glycol) are used in medical inhalation products, so yes they are tested/approved as safe at levels far higher than anyone exposed in a "passive" context will ever encounter. Vegetable Glycerin is another common primary component that is considered safe over a wide range of applications.

Others include natural food flavourings (notably vanilla and caramel), so if you are going down that route, you will need to consider giving-up smelling your food, just in case its not been tested.

As Pogofish said, you can vape sneakily

    Discretely please!

You don't need to be sneaky about anything involved with e-cig use. That way it only looks like you are trying to hide something. :)

The way vapers are treated makes it seem like they are criminals that have to go 'underground' and hide while vaping. Instead of doing proper research that would show it's safe thus hitting the coffers of pharma and tobacco companies, it's easier to just ban and let people continue to smoke and die.

No smell, no harm from passive 'smoking' (vaping?) and nicotine is no more harmful than caffeine :)
