Just after a few pointers re an elderly relative.
Quick rundown:
76 yrs old,female
Claiming full rate mobility allowance & pension.
Lives in LA accomodation, paid via benefits.
Claims council tax benefits.
Now needs respite care with maybe more care later due to health & mobility issues. She is currently receiving dialysis was well.
Assets believed to be over £6K but less than £24K
Any tips/advice re funding or what her costs will be in the short term re respite as a figure of £450 per week was mentioned by the respite supplier.
This cost could be sustained in the very short term via savings but not too many weeks.
Thanks a lot for any help & I hope this is the correct section to post in.

£450 sounds quite cheap, for that money she will get bed and board and round the clock care.0

Hi
I am going through this at the moment with my Dad, different circumstances as my parents own their house and my mum still lives there, however, have had a few meetings with funding side of social services. There is funding available to help with care costs but they will probably require a top up from any savings that are available. Do it through the social services. Hope this helps
