Invoice for Parking Charge Nuneaton

Hi, I have read through the forum but cant find the answer to my quandary so please bear with me.

I have received a Notice to Owner from Park Watch , a division of Defence Systems saying a Parking Charge is payable. The notice was issued for the alleged contravention of No Waiting.

The car was stationary, engine running, with the driver in it, for about 10 minutes. Didn't block any access etc.

Camera picture on the notice shows the car, in Nuneaton by the way and the owner, driver and keeper all live in Scotland.

Any guidance ? Thanks

    Hi,

You're actually in the wrong section, but no matter as the advice is easy - ignore everything.

The scammers can write letters threatening as much garbage as they like, but if you live in Scotland you are outwith the jurisdiction of any English claimant.

They can do nothing against 'foreigners' who break their crazy rules.

Scottish residents are 'beyond their reach' - as much as if you live in Tasmania or Timbuctoo. Different legal system stops them in their tracks.

Ignore everything except court papers. These numpties might try it on and omit 'Scotland' from your address and thus get an English court to write to you.

If that happens all you do is point out to the court where you live and it all comes to a rapid halt.

You may get 5 or 6 letters threatening a load of impossible rubbish.

Do not respond in any way at all.

Iceweasel's advice is good though, in Scotland you simply ignore the scammers and their fake debt collectors. Check the letter chain threads to get an idea of the rubbish they will send. :)
