BT Hub 4 offer - worth upgrading?

BT currently have a special offer on the home hub 4 for £35 (previously £109). I'm tempted to upgrade from my current router which is a Netgear DG834D 54Mbps Wireless G router which works perfectly well but is starting to look a bit tatty cosmetically.
Would I expect the signal from the Hub to be significantly stronger than the Netgear in adjacent rooms or does anyone think it might be worse? (adjacent rooms because the router is in the hallway near the phone socket and the living/dining rooms are the other sides of brick walls).
My internet is BT broadband and I get about 11Mbps coming into the house.

I use a Netgear DG834G, it works just fine. I would not think of replacing it until it dies (and even then I have a couple of spare DG834Gs waiting to take its place
). They are great little routers and can easily be picked up for a few quid.
I doubt that you'd see much difference in speed from the BT hub, maybe longer range with wireless "N", but your desktop/laptop would need to be wireless "N" capable too in order to benefit from it.
Save your money, don't give it to BT.0 -
In the latest edition of WEBUSER 26th feb, 13 routers are compared
BT HOME HUB 5 was the clear winner
(not sure in the difference between Hub4 ? )

The home hub 5 uses something called a/c technoogy - I don't know what that is but it looks like something that anything but the very latest kit might not be compatible with and as I do have guests that use my connection with their laptops from time to time I decided against the hub 5.0

The BT HH5 has a wireless AC transmitter, but is backwards compatible with wireless a/b/g/n equipment as well. It is much more powerful compared to the HH4 which has a wireless N transmitter.0 -
that's why home hub 4 for £35 (previously £109)
The home Hub 5 is £129 according to Webuser0
