POPLA: Strategy and Analysis

I get the impression the general public get a ticket, say sod it and pay before seeing that they can appeal as details on doing so are often in small print and/or are on the reverse. The tickets meet boa rules of couse.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The problem of course is that the info regarding popla is from the parking companies, and that is very limited to say the least. My opinion is that with every NtK sent it should contain a full page on appeals to popla, this should be standard across all the companies and contain all the info stipulated by whoever writes it to begin with.
As for popla itself, I've said it from the very beginning, they are not fit for purpose and should be replaced. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

If every person who won an appeal at POPLA on gpeol or the simple failure to defend wrote to OFT to point out that the parking companies were knowingly using unfair contracts, eventually OFT would lumber into action.
There is of course a very interesting court case happening in March where parking Eye will be called on to justify its process on multiple tickets. I hope those who are in court will ensure that there are no corners for Parking Eye to escape from. Again such cases are good because they will add to the pressure on OFT to recognise that there is a general problem.
It cannot be fair and reasonable that there are two groups of consumers, those savvy enough to happen on the contractual unfairness of the system and decent citizens who when told that they are obliged by law to pay up, believe it. 99% of payers have been misled. That is literally criminal and OFT are not discharging their duties.0 -
Is our Mr. B. Pole planning to attend the PE hearing?0

Looks like 'GPEOL' is to be replaced by 'PSDSU' [Parking Scum Didn't 'Show Up'] as the most common reason for a win at POPLA.
[I appreciate that you don't actually physically attend POPLA...]0 -

If you read the post before yours you would see that your case is now becoming the 'norm' and isn't exceptional.0 -

Yes, from reading a few of the results on here I can see that it is indeed becoming the norm now. It all seems to have swung this way between submitting my appeal and getting my POPLA result. Maybe they don't have to pay a fee if they don't bother to submit any evidence so it's a cheaper option for them? I assume they are now taking one look at the content of the appeal and know straight away that they'll lose so they don't bother to show up?0 -
PSDSU...again, and again and again.0

The PPC scum must be waiting until they can get POPLA to change their stance on GPEOL [or until they can change the providers of POPLA]...in the meantime PSDSU [Parking scum didn't show up] looks like it will reign supreme.0
