Is NI Government close to collapse.

Are you really that naive?Deals within deals and they all did not know! I would sooner believe in the tooth fairy.
Successive British governments over the twenty + years before the Good Friday Agreement involved themselves in talks and possible deals to try and bring the Troubles to an end. The political kudos to be gained was enormous.
This latest On The Run deal was solely between NIO, Sinn Fein and the Labour Government. It was kept secret for the very reason that the current outcry back then would have had major political repercussions, both here and in London.
We have had successive liars as Secretary of States for NI since Mo Mowlam, anyone who thinks differently is living in cloud cuckoo land.0 -
I think the Pardons under Royal Prerogative issue is much more interesting than the confused handling of the OTR's.
Who exactly are the few republicans who were granted pardons?
I suspect they may be high ranking and one may have met HMQ?0 -

The on the run deal was a requirement at the time and therefor there had to be a deal. That requirement was well publicised. You don't have to be party to the exact detail of a deal to know there was a deal! It may suit not to know the detail, plausible deniablity, so as to play stupid later.
Believe me when I say I have as dark an outlook on the morality of politics and foreign affairs as you will ever encounter. It is not me who is being naive. Of course they knew at the time they are not stupid.[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -

Republicans receiving a Royal pardon, could only happen here. :rotfl::rotfl:[STRIKE]Less is more.[/STRIKE] No less is Less.0 -

It's all smoke and mirrors and the little estate agent will never resign, just jumping up and down looking for votes.
He screwed up on the moody Alliance flag leaflets, does nothing to earn his corn and just loves the opportunity to dance a jug, probably more upset about losing a shed load of dollars on the Florida mansion sale,, wonder where he got the loot to get a £million or two to buy all those properties anyway.
Anyone no where Iris is hanging out these days?0 -
