Recommendations for medium term savings

Hi,

I've been drip feeding long term (10yr plus) savings into the Vanguard 80/20 (share/bond) fund and intend on continuing to do so for the foreseeable (with the odd side project as well inevitably).

I also have built up a suitably sized short term slush fund of cash which i will either keep in an ISA or move into a 123 account.

My question now is what to do with medium term savings? My mortgage fixed term ends in about 4.5 years so I would like to save with a timeline around that in line.

Drip feeding appeals so i can contribute monthly, although i could do batches of payments if that helps for transaction costs.

I would be interested to hear suggestions? I was considering direct corporate bond investment to try and get a ~5% return but haven't looked into them in intricate detail yet.

Thanks
