I recently had a non surgical procedure done in a salon and they took before and after pics. I dont want them keeping the pictures. Can I get them to delete pictures or can they refuse?

Can you be identified by the pictures or have they kept the pictures in your "file" ? Did they tell you what they would be using the pictures for?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Well they just keep them as before and after pics but Im having the final treatment on Saturday and I want to get them to delete the pics as I dont want any male members of staff to see them. I didnt think of this at first so i let them take the pics. Can they refuse to delete them?0

If you are able to be identified from them (either on its own or together with data in the possession or likely to come into the possession of the data controller) then possibly.
Did they get you to sign a consent form? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Wouldn't a consent form just allow then to use the images in a commercial environment (on their website, marketing etc). Would it not be the case that taking the images, with permission, permits them to hold those images to the extent data protection laws allows?
OP - this could all get quite technical, in terms of whether this does/doesn't fall under data protection, and then whether them holding the images falls under the 'relevant' test. To be honest, I'm sure if you just ask them (perhaps in writing simply to show you're serious), to delete the images they will do so.0 -
I dont remember signing anything0

How would you know if they've actually deleted them though? They could well just say they will to get you off their case. There's no way to know they've ever actually been deleted.0

If they are in digital format, like the poster above says you will never know if they are deleted or not.
If it was me I would forget it, if you cant be identified from the pics0 -
I would of thought someone under going Lazer skin treatment would of had too of at least sign some kind of disclaimer, and maybe there is something within this that covers photos.... OP are you totally sure you did'nt sign paperwork during the consultation period, before the treatment started?0
