Dial a phone warning

Options
This may have been brought up before (and I'm an idiot for not being more on top of my finances and only just noticing) but if you take out a phone contract via Dial A Phone make sure you know what you are getting. I know it sounds simple but I had no idea that they had set up a DD with a company called TMTI for telephone support and they have been taking £17.54 out of my bank since 2011. (I'm not sure how may payments have gone out but I now know I need to be much more vigilant with my money).

I asked for proof of where I had signed up for this and they stated it was all paperless billing so no doubt just a tiny tick box that I hadn't even noticed. It was so long ago I don't think I have any of the paperwork from Dial A Phone.

Anyway I hope this might be helpful to someone else so you don't robbed by these sneaky thieving so 'n' so's!

  • Typing "tmti" into the forum search box shows a multitude of similar threads. I bought a phone a few years back from Dial-A-Phone and during the ording process i'm certain it was mentioned as it came as no surprise when the DD showed up. I canceled after a short while as it offred no real benefits to me.

I never sign up to any insurance or support if it's going to cost me as I prefer to source my own should I feel I need it. I am just annoyed at my own stupidity for not noticing it for such a long time. I must be in la la land. I have learnt my lesson now and I will always read things properly before purchasing anything like that again. I think there should be stricter rules/laws on things like this and that they need to have some form of signature/electronic signature. They 'said' they have cancelled it and I have cancelled the DD my end so let's see.
