Ombudsman 2yrs and still waiting

Could anyone tell me how long they have waited for a decision from the Ombudsman. Its been over 2 yrs now and all I get is the odd letter saying they are working really hard and employing more staff but no news of my claim.

Thanks in advance.

They are taking typically 18 months to deal with complaints. Earlier ones seem to take longer than more recent ones.

  • Thank you for responding.

Just a little frustrating that my neighbour sent his complaint to the FOS 6 months ago and has already received a reply and refund.

Oh well I will just keep waiting then.

    Many thanks

Not every PPI is the same. They probably offered the company a chance to pay out before incurring the FOS fee and the company accepted in the case of your neighbour.

Ask your neighbour for the case number (if it was assessed by an adjudicator and/or ombudsman) and point it out in an email to the FOS.
I guarantee quoting that case number or any of the ones in these forums will get your complaint priorities to be not upheld.
