Warning about Match.com

Options
I was a member of match.com but cancelled automatic re -billing back in January. They have gone ahead and charged my another £59 anyway. They refuse to refund it, so I am having to raise a dispute with the credit card company. I have also had to completely cancel my card ( to prevent any future charges from match ).

They are clearly conning their customers, some of whom are perhaps a little embarassed to make any complaint about it.

Will update when the CC company gets back to me.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau

    How did you cancel automatically?

Normally subscription based services require proactive action to cancel them
  • Check your contract with match! Are you required to give them a certain notice period if you want to cancel the contract.

Did you cancel your membership within the required time frame or did you just cancel the DD? If you did not cancel (or not in time), another annually membership might be due.

We see it over and over again about paid-for dating sites in general and Match in particular. There are numerous complaints about them on the Internet and have been many stories in the press and Tv.
Check this review site only 6.5% would recommend them. Why do people still join up.

If they have a CPA on your card then cancelling your card will make no difference, the CPA will still go through.

There is a facility on the website to cancel re -billing. I have an e - mail from them to confirm that I cancelled.

Hi I had a CPA for XBOX live which despite numerous attempts to cancel via their site and speaking to them in America failed. I went to my bank and got them to cancel the CPA. It did work as XBOX tried to take the money and the bank stopped it.

(I got scammed by another dating site and ended up having to cancel my card. Made me never want to go there again)

Moral of the story - use a free dating site. Should never have to pay for one.
