He might be sanctioned...but he should claim anyway. Have you claimed online? In the meantime apply for anything and everything between you that you can do, as long as one of you gets some work it's somethingHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

You can still apply for HB based on your income. You'll need to provide recent bank statements.
You should still apply for JSA. Bear in mind, you'll have to be actively seeking work and keep a record for the JCP.0 -

Not correct. Please contact the job centre, CAB have given you wrong advice. Yes as he lost job through misconduct it's likely it will affect his eligibility to benefit, but if the decision makers decide that, then you can claim for both of you but you will need to look for work.
As you have children in school, one of you can claim for both, the other won't need to be looking for work as they will be classed as looking after the children.
Benefit rules are complex!

This is wrong - if you get income based JSA (which you should get as a top up even if your husband gets contribution based JSA) then tax credits will pay max CTC for the rest of the tax year regardless of your income earlier in the tax year.nervousnelly wrote: »I just called the HMRC and they said there's no way they are paying out anything now based on my husband's earnings so far. they have updated our circumstances but say I need to call them on 6 April again to put a claim in.
As soon as you get awarded income based JSA, give tax credits a ring and tell them.0 -

Another one to say that this is wrong.
1. He needs to sign on/claim JSA. He may need to ask for a private interview. he may be sanctioned but you do not know yet.
Alternatively you sign on and claim as a couple and seek work.
2. You can apply for both Council Tax benefit and Local Housing Allowance based on nil income right now. Do this today or tomrrow; LHA is paid from the Mopnday afte claiming so you need to do it this week.
And for this weekend, get all memebers of the household to go round and identify things that they now longer use (have you used it worn it in the last two years, will you in the next year, other wise sell).
You need to sell for the best possible price via Amazon, other on-line sites (e-bay is getting less friendly). car boots etc.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
