It's certainly sensible to take more than one payment card with you. But to state they deserve the problems they get is somewhat unnecessary.

Don't forget that many people struggle just to get that one account/card as it is.

I think the main reason for separating aspects of Santander is because it always used to do poorly, and MSE presumably didn't want to recommend a good account that consistently had poor customer service. It would look contradictory and reduce clicks on the affiliate link.

It'd be interesting to know for sure if Santanders' customer service really has improved as much as this poll suggests, or whether respondents are influenced by the account itself.
