Lloyds share price in 5-10 years

  • Just wondered what peoples opinions on lloyds shares are, and what they think they will be worth in 5-10 years, also when the government sell there shares at a discount, will this drop the share price much?

This is an impossible question to answer for a multitude of issues.

I'd ask why you pose the question before giving a more considered answer.

    Cheers.
  • Well just wanting peoples opinions really as i hold quite a few lloyds shares, and just wondered what peoples long term view on lloyds is, but what i see in the shorter term is the government selling there stake, now am not sure what its going to do to the price, i can see the shares lose a few pence when they do sell, but at the same time they will probably announce a restart in dividends which could raise the share price,

Why Lloyds? HSBC has continued to pay good dividends through thick and thin. Far better capitalised too.

Alternatively new kids on the block. Paragon, Secure Trust or even the supermarkets who are slowly building their banks.
  • Sorry for going OT but so annoyed that I brought these at 45p early last year as a LTBH.

Messing about with the stop loss setting meant I accidentally sold them at 57p. Grr!

Would have had a nearly 100% rise in less than a year. :(

You could have rung up the co you dealt with and they may have waived the trading fee.

But if you believed in the co why did you not just buy them back anyway ?
