    Morning all,

Well I'm rushing round like a headless chicken today doing things that don't really need doing.

Hubbys site foreman is cooking us a meal tonight in my kitchen. Ive never met him before, only to speak to on the phone and he wants to cook Mrs Yam (me) a meal. Hubby isn't forthcoming as to my input but I'll prepare the ingredients and just let Mr T get on with it. I find this well ......weird what they have cooked up between themselves. Still, the thought is there.

'Don't you find it weird?' I said to hubby last night.
'Oh he's alright is Mr T' he said.

Anyway, gave Millie dog a good trim and grooming yesterday. I'm at a loss as to where to start with Lucy dog. Might not get chance today, we'll see.

    Have a great day all.

  • Morning all,

Judi - that feels a bit weird, I don't think I'd like someone I didn't really know taking over my kitchen.

I forgot to put WM on before I left this morning so I texted DH and asked him to. The programme I usually use takes 50mins the one he had put it on took nearly 3 hours and it's laughingly written as the economy wash!

DH actually got himself a car yesterday which is pretty good timing as the front bit of the exhaust has broken on mine. He managed to wire it together for the interim while I wait for the new part to arrive.

    Beef casserole for dinner tonight.

No excuses for her bad behaviour tonight ! She is not ill or hungry just wanted the fire on - tinker!!!

Her B12 has worked (fingers crossed) and not tummy troubles (double fingers crossed and touch wood) although she has to have weekly injections. I remember I felt like a new woman after my first and I think Molly feels like a pup again. Going to have to get tough and do controlled crying with her again:o

Anyways Im going to read back now and send loads of OS hugs and love for OS days xx
Ha ha, she's obviously feeling more her old self.:D Actually, you've just made my day - I am so pleased she's responded well to the B12; ok, a weekly injection won't be fun, but when you think Sidny and Cameron, and I think Redruby's little dog have had to put up with 2 jabs per day, she's not doing too badly.:o

Talking of.... Redruby I'm so pleased it's nothing nasty. She'll just have to learn that biting at it isn't allowed.:o

JackieO I think I'd've kept the money and given a proportion to charity.

Judi that's right weird; there's no way I'd let someone like that loose in my kitchen; I've even been known to shoo Mr LW out on occasion! How on earth did that arrangement come about?

Mr T loves cooking apparently. They have obviously been discussing my shortcomings in the kitchen. Mr T is from Pembrokeshire and every time I speak to him he keeps saying we will have to all get together at some point. Well now he and hubby are temporarily only 10 miles away he thought he'd kill two birds with one stone.

I look at my saucepans.... they are great (for our normal use) but with all the extra stuff we've bought, I am wondering if I've got enough.... now I'm beginning to panic..... count to 10....

He may love cooking, but surely he has a kitchen of his own to do it in. Fwiw, if Mr LW were to criticise my cooking to his boss, he'd find himself on short rations (like bread and water) for a month.

    Afternoon everyone

At work today (only time I ever come on here really!).

Dinner last night was meatloaf, curly fries and peas. I had said I wanted to try girls with homemade beefburgers, but mum decided to make meatloaf instead. Hey ho, I offered to make the burgers (except for frying them) on Monday, but mum insisted she would do it yesterday. I thought meatloaf was scrum (what’s not to like), but girls weren’t too keen. Youngest one took one mouthful and wouldn’t try any more.

I will get there with new foods for them. They can’t eat chicken nuggets their whole life. Mum’s thinking of making them toad in the hole soon. I know they will look at it and refuse to it. But if we don’t cook new things, they can’t try them. Catch 22 really.

The sink in the kitchen is blocked at the moment. It wasn’t yesterday so have no idea what’s up with it. Tried pouring boiling water down it, but that hasn’t worked. Can’t find a plunger, not sure what other options there are, eek!

JUDI – I agree with you. Would seem a bit strange to me someone I didn’t know coming in and using my kitchen. Hmm. Hope it all works out.

BUSISCOMING2 – what’s the norm for washing clothes then? The program I use on my washing machine takes 1hr 56m. Not sure if that’s too long or not. I’ve had the machine a fair few years and just use the same program every time (mum must have told me that was the one to use, so that’s what I do).

Thanks for the sympathy ladies, I need it. He's going to have a shock when he comes in my kitchen. He's over 6ft apparently. When my wall cupboards were fitted, I had them lowered just for me. I'm 5ft tall and usual standard heights are a bit too high for me. Hubby is 5ft 11 but since the closest he comes to cooking or anything to do with food is the occasional curry. Even then he moans they are too low.

My utensils.... it took me years to find 'me' sized wooden spoons, spatulas, etc to fit my small occasionally arthritic hands. He's so going to regret this.:rotfl:

If its any consolation, most of the foods my kids wouldn't eat as kids, they now eat as adults except my eldest. He loved sprouts as a child but wont touch them now. Theres always got to be one eh?

I've just looked at the one I use and its classed as synthetics it works at either 30 or 40 degrees which seems to have worked fine for us so far :)

The standard 60 degree wash for my whites and coloureds is 3 hours and 5 minutes. I press the eco button and it cuts it down to 1 hour 44 minutes. 3 hours is too long imo.

  • Lovely day here but the forecast is for rain for the rest of the week :(
Saw doctor this morning he thinks that I have LAN diabetes which is an autoimmune form of diabetes and that I might have to go on insulin :(
He has referred me to the hospital diabetic clinic so I will have to wait and see.
Then we went to the market and got some veg. I also went into Wlkos and got some seed trays so I spent a few hours planting seeds this afternoon. They are nice and snug in the greenhouse.

Had my photo done for my blue badge OMG they are awful but needs must.

Julie glad to hear that the knee is on the mend.

And ruby I am glad that little dog is ok.

Off to watch Doctor Who Web of Fear which finally came today
