Restore Dell Inspirion 1750 to original setting

Options
after some advice please folks

I'm in the process of trying to restore my Dell Inspirion 1750 to its original factory settings

now I tried a few options, tried F8 and restore etc, however this would not left me restore to its original factory setting

I then tried F12, and using original dell restore discs supplied, again this did not seem to work

so after a number of attempts I just ran the Reinstallation disc, however I now have only 132GB of free space out of 230GB

I have two files in under C:/programs

1 x Windows old,(29.12.2009) this is 25.8GB ****
1 x Windows old.000 (26.02.2014) this is 31.9GB

****
just to add the laptop was originally running on Vista, before updating to windows 7

what I'm trying to do is retsore it to a clean install with windows 7

can anyone help, explain if/how I lose 57.7GB ??

Do you have the Windows 7 installation DVD and key?

If you, you can completely wipe the hard disk as part of the setup. Just select 'Advanced' when you setup, and you can delete all existing partitions before installing Windows 7. You will then reclaim all you disk space.

I do (somewhere) laptop was originally running on windows vista, then it came with free upgrade (disc) to Windows 7

as explained earlier, I'm trying to clean/restore the whole laptop to its original setting (prefreably into windows 7)

    Thanks
