What Tog Duvet for a toddler

Can someone advise me on what a suitable tog rating for a toddler's duvet should be please?

My son has been used to having a woollen cot bed blanket in his junior bed but he is about to move on to a normal bed in his grown up bedroom and I am interested in what a suitable tog rating is.

Thanks

i know mothercare have duvets for children (its where we got ours) but i cant remember look on thier website and check what tog rating it is, ours just have a ordinary quilt now as they are a bit older

just had a quick look and unless im reading it wrong they say 4 tog quilt and they recommend them for children over twelve months

I have a 4.5 tog on my wee one's bed.

Will put a slightly thicker one on when the winter comes round though. (That's assuming we are going to see summer first....);)

  • my dd has a 4.5 tog which she has thru the winter, but she is an incredibly hot child, we usually have to just have a sheet on her as the weather warms up & a fan on all night

We got the lowest tog we could find & she still got very hot & sweaty to start with, it took a little while to adjust. Even now - as Madisons mum says - we swap the duvet for a light throw when it is hot & use a fan when it is very hot! Talking of which I need to buy a new fan to point upwards in the babies room!!!

  • just bought a 4.5 tog summer duvet for my toddler's first bed but he gets too hot. i bought it for when i have to lie down with him really, it stops me getting cold so i am less likely to give up and bring him into my bed  but he is a very hot child, both of mine have been naturally hot. he's got an empty duvet cover tonight and that's fine for him. he will probably use the 4.5 tog quilt in winter.
