Old PPI- Confusing question..

Hi all,
Just want some advice.
I made a PPI claim a couple of years ago for PPI on my credit card. It was successful, but the bank explained they wouldn't(or couldn't) look any further back than 6 years, and if I had proof of a ppi payment beyond that 6 years then they would take that into consideration.
I knew I had PPI on my account beyond that 6 year cut off, but I didn't have the paperwork. The claim was paid out on and that was that.
Today I have been sorting through some papers that were in storage(and I forgot that I had got) and found a stack of credit card statements for this account that date back to 2001…obviously beyond the 6 year cut off. Can I go back to the bank and make a claim for the PPI that I now can provide proof of for the years over the bank's 6 year cut off point, or because they have paid out on this credit card, is that it?
Hope that makes sense!!
I have called the bank and am awaiting a call back, but wanted a bit of knowledge behind me incase they try to get out of it.
Thanks in advance

Was your offer made as a gesture of goodwill? And did you or did you not sign an acceptance confirming you accepted their offer in full and final settlement?
If the answer to either of those questions is yes then you are probably stuffed.0 -
I believe I did sign a settlement document which I too think means I can't claim further on that card. Just thought I would check.

There's no harm in trying as some banks may be willing to consider further redress voluntarily. But do be aware that if they say no you don't have any ammunition with which to force their hand.0 -
Good point. I am awaiting a call back from the relevant department, so it's worth an ask. They can only say no, like you say. Fingers crossed.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
