Car Insurance Renewal

Hello, apologies if you are getting tired of the same question and off course on my other thread surrounding similar question.

I have a choice of 4 Insurers to choose from who have come cheaper than my current Insurer at renewal. there is mix bag of bad and really bad reviews online but its one those situations where choose the least bad one of them all.

Who would you recommend out of these 4 and if you have a order of preference that would be also nice of you.

1.IGO4
2.RCIB
3.ESURE / Shelia's Wheels
4.POLICYSHOP

Thank you

i can't comment on any of those insurers, but have you gone back to your previous insurer and told them you can get it cheaper.
When i do this, mine normally drops their price to match or slightly cheaper.

I've been with Esure for the past two years and have just renewed with them for a third.

Admittedly, i've never had to make a claim but they've always come up as one of the cheapest ones around and never had any problems with them.

Thank you for replying. Yes spoke to them yesterday and the could not match the 4 mentioned in the OP. the price difference is about £200 cheaper from the mentioned 4 than my current insurers for teh same cover

thanks, considering my car would be a instant write-off in the event of a claim (touch -wood it never happens) should i be going for a well known insurer or the mentioned ones. as i really don't need the hassle
  • I have been insured with igo4 for nearly a year. My policy has RAC breakdown cover, (used once with no difficulties), and I was involved in an accident 3 days ago. I was sitting in my parked car just putting on my seatbelt and a guy drove straight into me, wrecking both his and my car. Igo4 have been tremendous so far... I know it's early days. Car was recovered quickly, Avis delivered my courtesy car very quickly too. I have had no excess to pay and this was based on a phone all following the accident. I've also received advice on personal injury, and yes I am genuinely injured. The customer service I've had is excellent so far and I can't fault them. Fab for a discount car insurer. Don't believe all the negative stuff you read..

I do hope that you got full details off the other driver.

If a car was delivered by Avis then it isn't a courtesy car but a hire car.

If the hire costs cannot be recovered from the other driver the hire company will return to you for payment.

A courtesy car is only given (by the bodyshop) when the repairs on the car actually commence and if it is a write-off no courtesy car would be provided.

    Good luck with it all.

Good luck with that, they've sold your details on to a claims management company for about £600.

You have little protection if things go wrong and these companies have a habit of hanging the job out

Since Sheila's Wheels had a TV advert not too long ago, I'd probably go with them... popularity and all that.

I'd most likely stay away from those I've never heard of and certainly where you can't find any reviews of them.
