exoteric that sounds good! i didn't realise you could have it so that it takes something if you forget to pay only.

I know you said you didn't like money flying around, but you really should consider setting up a DD to cover the minimum payment. That way you are guaranteed not to be late, even if you end up paying interest.
I do this with both OH and my own mbna cards... However be warned if you pay at the wrong time of month they don't collect the DD. Tho at least you'll still not have the missed payment would you?
I always pay extra on ours between the DD date and the statement date.0 -
Shelldean, i'm totally sold on this now. Going to set up a direct debit into my current account which has an planned overdraft in case i have cashflow issues or it tries to take the money when i'm not ready!
never ever again will i cause myself this worry haha.
going to blame my forgetfulness on the stress of house buying

Use a DD to pay the minimum, and then set up a Standing Order - because you control that you can change how much you pay off on that or indeed just call the bank and have it not paid that month, secure in knowledge that the minimum has been paid by DD so what you do with the SO will not affect that.April 2008 - Epiphany - At least £28K owed to 5 CC's
