    Hi summer33!

Just wanted to say Hi (and to thank the lovely people on here who came out in support of you after my last post).

    Hope things are going well.

If you do start a DF diary, please do let us know on this thread. There's so many, they can be a pain to find at first and I'd be keen to keep up with your progress and make sure that things are going okay.

    All the best,
    Scritti

Wow. You seem to be making huge progress. The diary sounds fab too. Those that want to can read it and those that don't want to, don't need to.
Regarding the caravan. On paper it would seem to make sense to sell it, but this isn't on paper. This is your life and you have to do what's right by you and your family. You clearly don't want to sell it, which is fair enough.
    Best of Luck

hi summer, have just read the whole thread! (should have been cleaning up)
sounds like march is going to be your fresh start.

re the school jumpers,if its not too late, pop a post on netmums and mumsnet and ask if anyone has hand me downs for that particular school, be very surprised if no-one does.

re buildings insurance, hope you aren't in breach of contract with the mortgage company not having this.....could have trouble getting a new mortgage.

could you hire out caravan when you aren't using it? advertise locally, couple of hundred a week? it'd be brill to use this as an income provider:)

btw, if you changed from meter for gas and elec you can pay monthly via direct debit, and you usually get a discount for this. I'd never be able to budget for quarterly so know how you feel about that.

aldi is great isn't it. really helped us out. currently buying their chicken leg quarters, £1.55 for two, I roast them then chop all meat off, mix with tin soup and any fresh or frozen veg and chuck in slow cooker, amazing how many portions it spreads to. your wedges would go nice with it

don't know how school dinners work as my son won't have them , but could you cut the costs by sending in drink and snack from home so wouldn't have to pay for them, just pay for the meal itself, or is it all included in the meal price?

I've just today put my heating on timed, after always having it on auto. 6-8 am and 5-10 pm. will see how that goes, I am very stubborn about not being cold...

good luck, will sunscribe to your diary too :)

hope you are feeling better soon and things get on a more even keel. is your husband on board with all this? that'll make things easier.

NO !!! Don't take out a Wonga loan, the spiral of debt will quicken faster than you can say Wonga, getting back to your original question after loads of people have had you going off on various daft tangents about school dinners and caravans, bejesus how do you hire out a caravan parked on your drive ?? sell it ? you wouldn't get much back, may help you for one month but then back in same sitch and no caravan, no one has seen fit to ask you how old any of your unsecured debts are ? any pre-2007 credit card or loans can be challenged for unenforceability, you may want to check that out in your situation, I would, makes more sence than kids going without there dinners !!!!!

    Hi Sourcrates

Thanks for advice, I didnt go for wonga loan :)

When you mentioned the debts being pre 2007, most of them are....how do I go about this and challenging them. I have wrote to all the creditors and give income & expenditure and am in agreements with them all.

    Thanks any advice on this?

You would have to send CCA (Consumer Credit Agreement) requests to all of your lenders.

If they can't provide the paperwork the debts are unenforceable.

    Thanks matttye

All the debts are now with DCA, so would I send to original lenders or them? Also if they cannot enforce them, what happens on our credit file?

    Thanks

Send it to the DCA and they'll forward it onto the original creditor if needs be.

They can do everything as normal apart from enforce the debt by taking back goods or get a CCJ against you.

This OFT page has more information.

Forgot to mention, you need to send £1 along with your CCA requests otherwise they can refuse to send them. If you send £1 along with the request itself it will speed up the process.
