When I bought my house a few years ago, the survey said that the drains at the back of the house, where the inspection chamber is, would need to be looked at some point, as they were old, to see if they were leaking or needed repair.
With one thing or another, I forgot about doing that. I am concerned that the drains might be leaking under the ground, as I've heard this can cause subsidence problems.
I'd appreciate some advice please. Should I get a "drainage consultant" out of the yellow pages to have a look?

Am interested to see any replies to this as had similar quote in survey to our new house. We took out British Gas drains cover for £5.65 a month accordingly - may be worth considering.
