0% on transfer and purchases?

How does this work?
We have been approved for a transfer to a Sainsburys credit card with a balance transfer of £1400. The limit of the card is £3000.
The 0% is 18 months for transfers and 6 months for purchases. If, for an example, we put another £1400 of purchases on the card do they keep the two transactions separate? How do you know you are paying off the purchase and not the transfer before the 6 months.
That probably makes no sense... hopefully it will to someone!

yes it makes perfect sense
according to their T&Cs they will pay the purchases off first before the BTs
once the 0% purchase deal runs out, do not then make any further purchases as you will be charged interest on them0 -
Thanks Clapton, nope, won't be making any other purchases!0
