As mentioned by another poster today you are likely to get a better response if you start a new thread. This thread is nearly 2 years old.

If it's intended to be long term savings, then why not put it into the Child Trust Fund account your daughter will have? Any money in there cannot be withdrawn, and can't be included in any means test/benefit calculations.

If the CTF isn't an option for some reason, then Harpenden Building Society do a children's savings account that can't be drawn from until they are 18, which might also be worth considering.

    :)

hi so does that mean if your childhad along term trust fund it doesnt counton your incomesupport

That was posted in 2007, I doubt they are lloking at the thread any longer. As has been suggested, why not start a new thread to get your questions answered?

Greatboy, you need to start a new thread (enquiry); this one is two years old!

Click "new thread" at the top of the board.

As for the child trust fund, it can affect benefits if the kids are included in the award, only if over £3k though. Also bear in mind that you can't just move money into a kids account to stop it counting as your own.
