Play-doh in carpet - help!!

My 5 and 7 year olds have been having great fun experimenting with play doh today - making patterns. They thought it would be a great idea to make patterns in the play doh so pressed it as hard as they could into the carpet to take an impression!! They have made a huge impression on my DH. Two bright orange marks in the middle of a pale green carpet. Any ideas for the best way to remove would be most welcome, so far I have tried hoovering and scraping. Please somebody tell me it will come out.
