and those who already have LoveFilm will be better off.
i get 5.99/month off my existing LoveFilm subscription now, so Prime will only cost me £7/year on top of what im already paying.
and considering i also shop alot at amazon, £7 for a years free delivery is a bargin.
even more so that my member is renewed in a few months at £49, so i get a whole year where im saving money0 -
I'll pay the £79 doesn't bother me.
I hope they remove the free trials too. See too much abuse of it.
I'm probably one of the "abusers" you refer to. I've had at least four free Prime trials to date and they keep asking me to sign up for more in spite of that.
So I'll keep using, along with many others no doubt, a free trial for as long as they offer it and it suits my circumstances. So don't blame the "abusers", blame Amazon for the continuous promotion.
After all this is a "Money Saving" site - yes/no?:)0 -
I see they have added some more films and TV programmes exclusively for Prime customers. It's still of little value to me but they are at least trying to beef it up. There's apparently 2,269 movies and 938 TV shows now, though it counts seasons of TV shows individually. They have also launched a store "Amazon Instant Video", which sells TV episode and film downloads (a far better selection of what they give away for free, of course). This is everybody's fault but mine.0

I am glad I saw this thread.. not well known for reading emails before deleting them.
I have just cancelled my automatic renewal.. they didn't offer me £49 even though we run out quite soon.
I hope they come back with an offer just for 'delivery' again it has been really convenient using prime. I may yet sign back up but it seems so much of a leap and prime stuff isn't always the cheapest option.0 -

Is this true? I have the Lovefilm package of 3 discs and instant streaming. I also have Amazon Prime. I received an email from them saying that my instant streaming will now be called "Amazon Prime Instant" but my charges won't change - am I missing out?i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -

It appears to be, althou im not completly sure.
i got the same email. But when i check the account in Amazon, it shows my next payment as £4, rather than £9.99 that it was showing a few days ago.
There doesn't seem to be any way to switch packages to check what price they are showing0 -
I have LoveFilm, 2 disc any time, unlimited streaming for £9.99 month. I recently signed up for a free trial of Prime (4th time I've done this
) and immediately cancelled the renewal.
Just checked my LoveFilm and it's showing the next payment is £4. Will see what happens when the Prime trial ends.0 -

If you look further you will see you are actually being charged £5.99 for streaming and £4 for discs by post - making an unchanged total of £9.99.0 -
One customer.. Jeff @ Amazon will be loosing sleep.
Somehow I don't think I'll be the only one cancelling Prime because of this in the coming weeks and months.Ive certainly got more than £79 back in deliveries this year alone so its profit for me.
I wouldn't be too sure on that either, Prime-eligible products invariably aren't the cheapest so probably not quite as profitable as you might think.
I think this is a mistake by Amazon. Free delivery and video streaming are not natural bed-fellows; many, many people won't want or can't use the streaming service and won't be prepared to pay the 60% price hike - I wouldn't be surprised if they rethink the pricing before the year is out...Every generation blames the one before...

It's confused me, I have the 3 discs, unlimited streaming package, had the same email but viewing my account it shows my next payment as £7.28 instead of the £13.27. But I have sussed it out, there are two seperate payments:
Go to Your Account
Next to Settings, click on LOVEFiLM By Post Membership
On the left, you see:
"Payment Details:
On 25 March 2014 your card will be charged £7.28."- for you it's £4
Now below that under Other, click on Manage Your Prime Membership
You will see:
"On 25 Mar 2014, you'll be charged £5.99 for month of Prime Instant Video."
Like you said about the packages, I can't find a way to "change" to see what they are now offering, if I click on Cancel Membership, it's a Yes, Cancel or No, Don't option only
Don't get me started on my Rental List  200 films and not in alphabetical order, no clue what order it is in.
Interesting:

Not sure what will happen to me in the future in regards to 3 discs at a time, must be the reason you cannot see the different options.0
