  • Woke to heavy rain :( Just starting to brighten up a bit now.
DD had an interview at the zoo today because her job is only 18 hours a week, she needs something to top up her wages, the zoo is happy to work around her timetable so fingers crossed. TBH she has always wanted to work up there, but it is awkward to get there if you have no transport.

Ruby try not to worry too much about your little dog x

I am going to take a chance and get some washing on the line.

    Morning all,

a big welcome newthrift. Pleased to have you on board.:D

Managed to get through all my household chores yesterday so I thought I'd tackle the 'Girls' today. They haven't had more than the odd quick groom for months and Lucy dog looks a bit like a fluffy bear (with the added complications of knots and tangles in her ears). Neither of them like being groomed but they badly need it. I checked their nails a week or two ago and trimmed Millies but I'll check them again. I'll be happy if I do Millie today and Lucy tomorrow because its such a big job and makes my back ache.

Nothing else to add really, the sun is shining though its still pretty cold out there.

'Youngest' is moaning he wants to quit college and go out to work and hubby is moaning that he wants to quit work and go back to college. I just want to go back to bed.:)

Cottage pie tonight for tea. Not sure ive made enough so i'll have to be inventive.:D

Havent been able to get in touch with my daughter in South Africa for days as her phone is broke. I am hoping she gets it sorted soon.

    Have a good day all,

HH - I like your description, I always used to tell the kinds that hot dogs were made from lips and ears but yours is better!
:rotfl: My description of the content of meat-based junk food is "@$$ end of donkey":D

Got to take little dog to the vets tonight she as a lump on her leg which the vet has already seen and told us it was ok, but its grown rapidly the last week and she is trying to bite it, so off to the vets I think she will have to have an op to remove it.
Aww, bless her; Penny-Dog had something similar, and the vet removed it. Give her a cuddle for Auntie Wolfy.:o

Shame I don't live near you; I love grooming dogs; I find it therapeutic.:o And I'm pretty good at getting reluctant dogs to comply, too - Bailey's a total teenager if he sees the brush, but I can get him looking lovely!:D

We went to the CAMRA meeting last night, and really wish we hadn't bothered. Sure, there's a lift - but to get to it, you have to go through a sort of courtyard-y area, the gate to which was locked. So Mr LW had to leave me sat in my wheelchair while he went in search of a caretaker for the key to the gate; and there were a whole load of teenagers hanging about, with assorted skateboards and cans of lager and such like; I was really scared.:( To cap it off, when we finally got to the actual meeting, there were NO refreshments of ANY SORT available (who organises a CAMRA meeting in a venue with no bar, !!!!!!?) so I had to down my three tablets I have to take at 21:00 with nothing to help them down; and just to add to my misery, there was fluorescent lighting, so my lupus butterfly rash was itching like crazy within half an hour.:( The entire evening seemed to consist of the new Chairman spouting at us (evidently he likes the sound of his own voice) and overruling anyone who tried to make a sensible suggestion. Complete waste of an evening, and I still feel very unwell now. I've told Mr LW , if they hold the meeting there again, I ain't going.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Evening all
Very quiet on here today. A bit like my day. Have been taking it very easy today after my steroid injectin in hip yesterday afternoon. Was agony last night but seems to have calmed as the day had gone on. I would say still more uncomfortable than before I had it done but at least better than last night.
Have had a NSD as haven't been anywhere today or done any online shopping :T
OH home tomorrow from offshore so he can help round the house and hopefully I will get back to work soon.
Hugs for anyone who needs/wants them xxx

    Evening all,

Welcome Newthrift you will love it here.

Not much happening here either, although hubby has two days work Thursday, Friday what a difference a day makes. It's such a roller coaster working for yourself sometimes.

Hubby is busy planting his onion sets the kitchen looks like a bomb site but he's happy
My youngest is home tonight and they have the football on in the background whilst discussing cars, I'm needless to say in the other room.
We've had to bite the bullet and look for a different car, ours is on it's very last legs and has done almost 200,000 miles. We've managed to save just about enough. It won't be fancy but a bit newer than our current one.
Anyway enough waffle, see you tomorrow x
