  • P&F so sorry about the car :( I really hope it comes to a small amount and doesn't take you way overbudget. Horrid start to the year for sure. Aim for a Chinese New Year and start again then!?> ;)

Car is fixed - cost a stonking 160 quid.:eek::eek:
Oh well, such is life, there was nothing else to be done as it needed a new part. Labour cost wasn't too bad in the end. And I'm grateful it happened when I was close to home and had nothing planned - imagine if your window got stuck completely open if you were miles from home and planning an overnight stay somewhere and it was pouring with rain!

I'm afraid they may have to wait a while for that money though - I will settle up the other bills with them first.

Have otherwise had a very productive day, got lots of work done and have tidied up the place completely now the Christmas decs are down. Place looks a bit bare - always take me a while to get used to the plain old sitting-room again. :)

I feel almost guilty chucking out the Christmas tree - it's in fantastic nick still. It's gone outside in our general chucking-area to join last year's tree. :rotfl:
  • Lmao. Can't you plant the tree?!? Have a friend who has had hers for 15 years. She just digs it up every year :rotfl:

I am so sorry about the car and the cost :( that is awful, but yes they need to wait! I sometimes wonder if garages make these problems when checking everything for an MOT. But I am cynical like that.

You're right to count your blessings :) twas easy to cover up and with you at home!!

    Have a good night hun!

It does seem slightly suspicious that it happened right after a service but now that I think about it, I remember an occasional odd noise before. I can't see that they would have had any cause to go near the window to be honest.

The garage is local and I trust those guys completely so I am sad but philosophical about it. :p

DH reacted with some consternation when I suggest he look at the car window. It's an electric window and he said there's no way he could take the door apart etc. It's done in the garage again now - the mechanic reckons it will need a new part. I trust him to only do what's necessary but I still think it's going to be a large bill, because there will be considerable labour costs. Sob, this is NOT what I need to kick off 2015. I better get ebaying. :(

I had a problem with my passenger window a few years back - it was just jammed solid. Then quite by accident a stone spun up and hit it smashing it completely, when i had it fixed on my insurance it just cost me the (windscreen) excess of £65 :) and now works perfectly.

So it might not be as expensive as you think.

That's annoying about the car, at least it's fixed though.

I feel your pain p&f. ((Hugs)). I've just had my car in the garage today. Cost just over £160 to get repaired. (I got him to do an oil and filter change whilst he had it-long overdue!).
    Happy new year! Lol
I had better get eb@ying too! Lol

I don't like ebaying, I am not like Jwil who has the whole thing mastered. Better knuckle down to it though. :p

  • WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO - IT'S FRIDAY! :j

Sorry for shouting but this first week back has seemed like a long week - still it's one week closer to Spring. :)

I have the next three days off after this and I have a huge pile of things I need to get done.

Have a lovely Friday everyone. :)
