Hi everyone.
As you may have noticed, I haven't done my plans for 2015 yet. In fact, I've done very little of anything except eat to excess.
In my defence, I've been unwell and I'm still not great today but I did go back to work. Went to the doctor's after work though and she gave me a prescription that I hope will help. I am in considerable discomfort so I hope it resolves itself soon.
I haven't even taken down the Christmas decs which I'd planned to do this evening but didn't have the energy. I usually do it on the 6th, so will do it in the morning.
I am going to take myself off to bed, hopefully will feel better tomorrow but meanwhile a quick good, bad and ugly:
The good:
Car passed its MOT. :j
The bad:
Cost of MOT + Service just south of 300 big ones  (not unexpected to be fair).
The ugly:
Driver's window made an alarming 'clunk' noise tonight when I opened it and now it won't go up again. Have covered it with a tarpaulin for the night. Dammit, I reckon that won't be cheap to fix, just when I thought I'd got away with a reasonable MOT/service cost.:(:(:(

If you have any male friends who are even vaguely handy, they should be able to help with the car window. If you can get the inside door panel off, you may find the window is very easy to drop back into place and will work right as rain. Might not even need a mechanic! If I was there I would give it a bash before trying a mechanic anyway. Fear not! Play damsel in distress...
That MOT/Service, ouchy!!
I too have eaten to excess and there is still enough junk in the cupboards to keep me going another month. I am worried about my work trousers fitting, and worse yet I think work colleagues may actually think I am pregnant again :rotfl:

Oh yes, loose stuff only for work this week, I am an absolute hippo. :rotfl:
I still have some mini-mince pies in the freezer (which are homemade and lush, if I say so myself) which go down nicely after a quick zap in the microwave, along with the brandy butter in the fridge. Yummy in my tummy.
Thanks for the advice on the window, will get DH and DS to take a look in the morning. It's an old car, I don't want to spend much on it though it's been very good to me since I got it, so I can't really complain. I am hoping the window has kind of fallen of its perch so to speak, and can be popped back on. Can you tell that I am very mechanically minded. :rotfl:0 -
No hun, that is precisely what it has done!! If I had tried to explain what had happened I would have felt foolish because I would have been using pretty much those words!! :rotfl: - I am a 'bodge-it and scarper' type of girl who can pretty much Blue Peter anything if I put my mind to it. I am sure DH & DS will figure it out without much swearing
My car window perch knowledge comes from a host of Cortinas, mark 1 VW Polo's, fiestas etc growing up. I have tied an exhaust back on a car by trapping the rope with the boot to get a few more miles safely home :rotfl:
I have brandy butter left!! It is my favourite! I have also got some slightly dry stollen to eat... need to make more pastry to make more mince pies with my 30p Mr S bargain mincemeat. All of this, and the endless shortbread and chocolate I was bought (people know me well) mean that my trousers will not be fitting any time soon! Lets be hippo friendslol

I am drawing a line under the over-eating today. I will have my last mince pies this evening. Am working from home today but tomorrow I will see if people at work would like some mince pies - they may be sick of them by now.
DH reacted with some consternation when I suggest he look at the car window. It's an electric window and he said there's no way he could take the door apart etc. It's done in the garage again now - the mechanic reckons it will need a new part. I trust him to only do what's necessary but I still think it's going to be a large bill, because there will be considerable labour costs. Sob, this is NOT what I need to kick off 2015. I better get ebaying.0 -

Thanks but no thanks.
There is nothing remotely healthy about flapjacks, whether mincemeat or not. Full of carbs, mostly sugar.
I an usually a low-carb eater, just went a bit berserk over Christmas eating all kinds of junk, which is why I am so bloated. Once I go back to my usual healthy eating, a lot of that bloat will disappear. Then I just have to get rid of the few pounds of fat that have been loitering for some months.0 -
Are they dairy free INOD?!?! *interested*
P&F so sorry about the carI really hope it comes to a small amount and doesn't take you way overbudget. Horrid start to the year for sure. Aim for a Chinese New Year and start again then!?>
