selling a PRC house

We sale agreed our PRC repaired house in Jan and told buyers what it was etc upfront and showed them cert. they were happy and made offer. we were today 2-3 weeks from exchange and they changed their mind. this is second time this has happened and we are beginning to think we are never going to sell. We have already reduced it from 170K to 155K and accepted offer of 150K. estate agent suggested we drop it to 145K. has anyone sold a PRC house recently and what type or price compared to market value did you get etc. we don't really want to drop more as we need money to make up difference on what we want to buy.

Did they give a reason why they dropped out? Maybe their survey came back with major issues with the place, other than the construction material. Maybe the only lender who would accept them refused to lend on the property because of the construction.
At the end of the day, the market value is what somebody is willing and able to pay you for it.
Oh, and to save anybody else googling like I had to, I'm assuming PRC is precast reinforced concrete, rather than the house having been repaired by the People's Republic of China...?0 -
We didn't even get to survey - it was booked for today. the searches were done and all ok. all other legal work fine. we showed them the PRC cert. We have had Halifax and Natwest survey it in last 6 months and all o.k just buyers have decided not to buy at last minute.
Yes PRC is Precast concrete but this has been completely stripped back, all concrete removed and new breeze block walls put up then cavity wall, and bricks on outside, tiled roof. same as normal house.
so annoying.0 -

Hi,
Sorry to hear your having trouble with the sale. Who did the repair? Was it a leading company that did it? I have noticed that one company that regularly leaflet drops in our area has now been dissolved. I'd be interested who you used as we are considering a PRC repair in the near future.
PM me if you prefer not to say in the open forum.
All the best. D0
