Who Can Check My Dissertation

Well, my tutors read every chapter of my PhD thesis several times before I finally submitted it. I suggest you ask them: that is what your tuition fee covers.

If by 'checked' you mean proofread for errors, etc, then no your tutors shouldn't be doing this. You should have regular supervisory meetings and guidance to discuss your research and content but they can't correct it for you if they see something wrong - it's YOUR work.

Proofreaders advertise all over the place, or stick a sign up in the SU saying how much you'll pay for someone to proof read it. SU should also be able to advise you where to get it bound, this is a common query. Our IT services on campus offer it, and there are local shops nearby that do too.

Back in 1989, my typist proof read mine, then her husband proof read it, then my house mates proof read the typists copy, whilst I proof read theirs. Then I went back to the typist and she re-did those pages.

Pre-personal computers !!

The staff aren't allowed to check it over.

When I've googled for prices on the Internet, the prices are exorbitant!

The binding is done by the uni apparently, so that's not expensive.

Our local branch of Staples had a binding service. Might be national.

THIS is an excellent too to make sure your work is original - it detects plagiarism and THIS will check your grammar. As for binding, I took it down to my local printers, they were a small independant company and they bound it for less than £15 - its worth phoning around! There was an option to have it bound by the Uni but I was at Uni of Essex but had just moved to Hampshire so couldn't have it done there.

I also had my dissertation bound at Staples, although I'm not sure if they offer a hard binding service which is what the OP needs, and had you read the thread properly you'd have seen that she has already found out that the university will do her binding.
