PIP timescales at present

Just wanted to update for anybody wondering about present timescales.
I applied for pip 19th August, or my support worker did for me, on mental health grounds. I had assessment with ATOS on 23rd January (was an nhs nurse and my support worker came in with me and it was really ok), and got my decision last Friday, 7th March by letter, so 6 weeks.
I was awarded the enhanced daily living component, and the money was in, backdated to August, the same day.
It is until January 2016.0 -
I am glad you have had a good decision .I applied 20th January for pip phoned dla February to see how claim was progressing only to be told that yes they have received my claim and as its a new scheme it could take up to 26 weeks before any decision then I expect a wait of weeks/months before assessment appointment then a few more for capitas decision so it looks like Christmas .it's nice that they have backdated your payments and if I pass my( inquisition)assessment I hope they will do the same0

Yes Shaz, don't believe the horror stories, as my experience of both ESA and PIP has been good, just tell the truth. The truth will see you through.0 -
I applied June 12th 2013, had my assessment in November, got my decision in last week of Jan 2014 for enhanced care and mobility. About 6-7 months seem to be the norm, did a couple of chase up phone calls and didn't get an MP involved. I had my assessment completed by Capita.0

Oh my goodness, have people seen the Public Accounts Committee meeting on the morning of 20th March? I'm sure people on here on different threads will have. It is disgraceful.
For those who need to see it just from this thread, it is http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Player.aspx?meetingId=15137.
The horrid atos lady starts at 10.30, and the dwp man straight after.
I feel sick to my stomach that terminally ill people have waited longer than me for an assessment, and, whilst I feel grateful for my award, I think this lot need really sorting out.
I love the lady who is the chair, she keeps herself in check better than I would0
