                    Hi there,
In a previous flat in which I lived the whole place had recently been refurbished with some spotlights that seemed to produce some serious heat?
Unfortunately I have not idea what type of spotlights they were.
Now I am having my own place done and I'd like to install spotlights partly for the secondary heating effect. Does anyone know what kind of spotlights are best if you want them to produce heat as well as light?
Baz

They would probably be halogen downlighters. But why would you want your lights to provide heat? Particularly in the summer, when you might want the lights on but don't want the heat.0

I take your point it did get pretty roasting in the old flat in the summer! Windows open from June till September!!
The builder is pushing LED spots would you agree?
Trouble is I don't see much scope to heat the place any better we have a newish boiler and flushed the radiators so they should be working to their full potential but still it can get cold in the depths of winter!0 -
Then just go for LED lamps and an electric heater for when you need the heat.0

Yes, this if you need additional heat in the winter. Electric heater will produce heat more efficiently than halogen lamps, and also with control.0
