Can someone help me understand my drastically large electricity usage?

Hi, Sorry I missed your question. The total 9.53 kWH is for the full day. The further break down however shows that the total kWh used over 202 days = 1926. Of this, 1733 was used during the day and only 193 over this period was during the night.0 -
If you're on E7, then the company should have let you know both the day and night readings and projected / actual usage. I'd get back in touch with them asap if they haven't done this.
As for your colleagues, then some of them may well be paying less. Also, they may be paying estimated bills and storing up a HUGE shock for when they move out / have an actual meter reading. £60/month as long as it is calculated on meter readings not estimates doesn't seem unreasonably high for an electrically heated flat.
Thank you again for your reply. Sorry, what do you mean they should have told me? Everything that they have gave me were based on estimates until I gave them the readings last week so the bill they have generated is based on 2 readings since I moved in until last week, 202 days apart pretty much.0 -
npower in talking nonsense shocker! The average consumption is 3200 KWh - for class 1 meters, ie. people that have gas central heating.
For profile class 2 meters (E7), the average consumption has just been revised down to 4700 KWh a year. If you're using 5MWh a year, it's marginally above average, and you'll probably be able to get it down with some smarter use, but it's nothing much to be concerned about.

That doesn't seem right to me, if you have electric storage heating your usage should usually be higher at night than through the day.
You need to check your meter readings and bill, for example Scottish power had my day readings as night and vice versa. Also do a check with your meter over a few hours which readout is increasing, is it the one you'd expect etc.0 -

I done the load test over a 2 hour period on Saturday there and the meter readings are the correct way round.0 -
General rule is that your 'night' usage should be somewehere around 50-60% of your total usage for E7 to be cost effective. I would try a comparison site with your usage figures to see if a normal tariff is chepaer.0
