Looking to get some vpn software on my pc for added security, I use Avast free antivirus and there is a offer for around £24 for the year for their own vpn software. I looked on google to get a review but it didnt sound that good for European users.
Presently I am using the free Cyberghost but there is limited use for free users.
So looking for advice from the Techie brain boxers on which they think is the best vpn software for UK users. Free would be great however if there is a small yearly cost you cannot complain for added security on your pc.

TBH for pure security I don't think VPNs really offer much benefit unless you really don't trust the network you are connected to.
Even then you have to put your trust into the VPN provider esp as pretty much anyone can setup a few VPN servers in a random data centre and then they have access to ALL your unsecure traffic.
privacy wise they can have their uses however.0 -
I use https://www.proxpn.com
Uses openVPN on PCs and Macs, support PPTP for mobile devices.0 -
The 2 I use from time to time are :
https://www.privatetunnel.com
You can pick your exit US or or certain European countries. you pay per Gb of data and can buy in blocks of 50Gb ($12) 100Gb ($20) or 500Gb ($50)
and
https/ i p r e d a t o r . s e (swear censor don't like this for some reason!!) **Remove spaces!**
Fixed output location Sweden (run by some of the guys that run Pirate Bay!;) ). You pay per month (or pay in bulk of 6,12 month options) €6 / $8 / 50 SEK per month unlimited Gb and no slowdown!
Only issue is with some VPN services is that Paypal and credit card companies make it difficult to pay them! so you might have to use other services to pay!Laters

I would think twice about using a European or an American one.
These reviews are probably more trustable than most

Well the free version has only 2 free ip locations in the UK. Sometimes on a evening if I connect there are no free places so I cannot use the software. I would pay for the full version but still shopping around looking for the best reviews and best price that suits me.All the big powers they've silenced me. Why get your site listed below, or contact them. They only have about 4 basic questions and all going well should see you on their preferred list.

http://schoolofprivacy.eu/vpn
1. Do you keep ANY logs which would allow you or a 3rd party to match an IP-address and a time stamp to a user of your service? If so, exactly what information do you hold?
2. Under what jurisdictions does your company operate and under what exact circumstances will you share the information you hold with a 3rd party?
3. In the event you receive a DMCA takedown notice or European equivalent, how are these handled?
4. Which payment systems do you operate and how are these linked to individual user accounts?0 -
