You didnt reserve a house you couldnt you were not proceedable with a house for sale,on the easymover leaflet it used to state the home is still up for sale to anyone who is proceedable.?Same with any developer, when we get excited about a project we sometimes dont hear things being said ,im sure the sales negotiator would have told you? its part of basic sales training dont worry the sales manager will indeed pull her into head office and look at the notes, every visit is recorded and every conversation that has taken place is written down she will receive a warning if this has been the case as you describe, but why would she do that, she has no need ,for every part exchange or straight sale her commision stays the same, A big mis understanding has taken place.my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0

Just an update iv had a lovely email from the regional manager today, shes apologised prefusely and checked im on the list for the next available home of the type we wish. whether we go for it or not im undecided.
But i feel reassured that this was a one off, and has put my faith back in the Taylor Wimpey brand.
Thanks for all your comments! :rotfl:

bloody 'ell it didn't take much to turn you around!
good luck with your purchase0 -
I had a similar thing happen to me with Bovis, they booked me in to see a house and sold it 15 mins before I arrived, having a round trip of 30 miles. I was disheartened.
I've looked at a lot of new builds in the last year, the thing is that they want to sell their houses quickly and I could not always move quick enough.
A couple of weeks later after the Bovis incident, we got a call from an Estate Agent to say a house had fallen through for someone on the Taylor Wimpey site next door, and did we want to view. We moved in 8 weeks later.
I really believe that the right house finds you, rather than you finding a house and your house is out there!
Best of luck!0 -
I am buying a house with Taylor Wimpey (Completing on Friday) and have had no issues and they have been brilliant.
What i dont understand is the fact that you never reserved the house so it was never off the market. You should of paid to have it come off the market even just to cover yourself.
The £500 is refundable and you'll get it back pretty quick anyway.0 -

We was never advised to! I offered but cud not pay til we'd agreed easymover amount.
Another manager has been in touch today and is not happy at the blatant lack of communication, we never got an easymove leaflet as there wasnt any in.
Seems they are taking my complaint seriously which is enough for me.
Good luck with your move!0 -
Excuse me for my bluntness and honesty but that's my posting style lol
your letter came across very emotional and at times snobbish... Especially the line 'finances aren't an issue' and 'I manage 48 branches etc etc'...
I was waiting for the 'do you know who I am' statement to be honest.
But clearly you only came on here to rant as you seem happy enough now they have responded. You were pretty quick to berate them; perhaps approaching the situation calmly would have got you a quicker response. An opinion is just that..... An opinion0 -
Well done taylor Wimpey for turning around a punters bad experience, well done OP, it has helped you to say it how you felt it was.0

I can take bluntness thats my style too!
I agree about the letter, the reason for my snobbishness was a reaction to them incinuating (sp!) that i couldnt afford the 4 bed, and being asked if a smaller house would be better, i felt like saying do u know who i am as she made me feel like i wasnt deserving of a house on that development lol!
And as for me getting a quicker response i got one 12 hours later and have also had 2 follow up calls so i really cant fault their reaction, they agree wholeheartedly that communication and customer service in this instance was zero, and have been brilliant ever since.
I am not easy to win over i assure you, but as i work in customer services im also impressed when a business takes complaints seriously and actually listens to the customer.
Thanks for your feedback :T0
