Windows 7 appears to have stopped working

Hi it looks like window7 on my pc has stopped working as once it says Windows is resuming ,it doesn t . Thats as far as it goes. Has anyone got and suggestions for me to try please in simple terms. I ve tried f8 and nothing happens. thank you

    You didn't mention "resuming" last time. When you see this message hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys repeatedly. Then select "Delete restoration data and continue".

    Hi oh I'm fed up with it all lol . I hope it's that simple. Yes I get the name of the pc which is a Dell Inspiron 360 the I get the windows logo and it says windows resuming ..... But it doesn t resume lol the screen goes blank and to try anything else I have to switch it off and on again. Do I hit all the keys at the same time ? thanks

    Thank you you re a star. That's worked a treat. Hopefully it ll start ok next time after it's been switched off. :T

    Do you happen to have a idea of what desk top pc is a good buy at the moment. I need a new one as mine is 10 years old and all the info s overwhelming. I don't need one for gaming just a mid range good spec one lol please. thank you again.

    I think Microsoft rolled out some updates last week , normally happens on Tue/Wed or so (depends on how often you use your laptop , it has to download them before up-dating obviously!)
    It's possible your machine was in this state when it was 'resuming'?
  • if you make sure you shut it down regularly rather than just going to hibernate you should be OK in future
