Nope no hallmark - I guess it's not silver then :(

    This is pretty similar: http://www.karenmillen.com/turnlock-charm-pendant/jewellery/karenmillen/fcp-product/412ZP01498

I've had silver plated necklaces before that cost less than this one :(

"Is there any chance it can be taken back to the shop it was bought from?"

This is what I'm wondering - whether I have a worthy argument and any chance of a refund (my boyfriend thinks he still has the receipt)?

Surely jewellery at this price should not be cheap tat that last 2 months before going brown? As I say I've had necklaces that cost less and still look good as new....

    I would agree with that.

I do wear a lot of 925 silver but I also buy (only in the 70% sale - very MSE) stuff by Jasper Conran, Betty Jackson Black etc from Debenhams.
None of it has tarnished - but I don't wear it all the time.

Have you worn yours all the time?

If you can get back to the shop without too much inconvenience and have the receipt, I'd be inclined to take it back.

I have worn it probably all but about a week's worth of days since I got it; if I had realised it was such poor quality I would have been more careful!

I'll still try taking it back though. I expected/expect much better from Karen Millen.

Thank you for the help everyone :)

You are paying for the badge, not the quality of the item.

Have you given it a quick scrub yet to see how it comes up?

Costume jewellery is just that. Karen millen are not a jewellers.
You are being charged boutique prices which are usually over inflated, but buyer beware.
You could certainly try and return it, it's worth a try.

I'd return it without attempting to clean it up in any way.

If you try to clean it, they may say that it was that which damaged it.
