Old Style Daily Thread - Monday 24th February

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Weather is dire, absolutely bucketing down.
Already been busy on speadsheets and online banking this morning and our debt is now below £30K. Still looks like a massive amount but 2 years ago, I would not have believed this was possible.
Thai pork mince and bean sprouts for dinner, cold omelettes for lunches.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep warm, well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Redruby - Your wardrobes are absolutely fabulous, as is the rest of the room, well done!
Well, took a friend to a gin tasting afternoon yesterday and it was really good, the host was very knowledgeable and entertaining and the gin was plentiful - too much for me - had to give a lot to my friend! The martini was particularly large and I didn't like it much anyway but he was happy! It was a birthday present for said friend, he and his wife do a lot for us and have been a fantastic support over the years. I may be a little slow today though!
I had made bolognaise sauce yesterday morning so DD just boiled up some pasta and heated the garlic bread so the dinner was waiting for us.
DD started to strip wallpaper in the hall and stairs, it needs a lot of work and a steamer but it's amazing how big it looks without a pattern!
Anyway, must get ready for work, will take salad for lunch and get out some chicken for tea.
Hope you all have a good week. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all,
OH woke me this morning to ask where I had put the back door key, its in the cupboard as normal I said, no its not its gone he said , I got up to look and there it is hanging in the cupboard as always ! its going to be one of those days.
Work for me today, but I need to take dd to the Dr first, nothing serious and she has one of the first appointments so should be in and out quickly !
Dinner tonight will be fajitas and I need to do an online shop and shove a wash on.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
Back from B'rum: DD & SiL now firmly established in new house. DH is on his way shortly to return the hired van.
Today is an enforced washing and ironing day, with a side list of jobs that must be done before we go on holiday a week today.
It is cool and grey here, I'm not sure if it will rain again or not, but it does feel more spring-like.
Have a good day!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Am off to see the specialist about my bursitis today. Hoping we can agree a way forward as it is really getting to me now!
Looks quite nice out, dry but windy. May even get some washing on the line
Am loving that the mornings are getting lighter earlier too
DS already away to work. DD still asleep. Will have to get her up and off to school soon then washing and ironing for me. Also must go through the freezer and make a meal plan so I can nip to shops for any little bits w need.
Have a great day all xxx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Now light, cloudy and overcast – blustery again. Dry underfoot but certainly looks like it could rain at some point during the day. The sky in the distance was a beautiful mass of orange, pink and red – not a good sign – generally means we’ll get nasty weather later in the day.
DH up and gone to work early, but not stupid early.
Dinner last night was at local Indian – we’ve been promising to take the boys for ages and just never got round to it so before we get busy we thought we’d do it this weekend, we have something on every weekend now until the end of March. The boys really loved it and said how lovely the food was – I still feel full this morning. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was nice not to cook a Sunday roast for a change. Dinner tonight is roast chicken pieces, mash, veg and gravy.
Back to normal today – boys back at school/college. I’m working. It’s likely to be a manic Monday as people don’t come in when the kids are off on hols they leave it until they go back – the day will pass quickly though.
It’s payday this week, so I’m looking forward to getting some more paid off the little bit of debt we have left – when we went out last night I paid for that on the debit card and not credit card – nice feeling to know that the spare cash is there and makes you watch what you’re spending.
Will put a load in the WM before I leave for work – this will then be put on the airer tonight to dry overnight. There’s only just enough in the wash basket to make up a load as I’ve kept on top of it – I want to continue with this so it doesn’t get overwhelming as we get busy.
Had a reply from the enquiry I made that was becoming urgent – all sorted now – so I’m very happy.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone,
Molly, Snoozer, Hilstep Hugs.
Late start for me today as we have an Inset day and we are all off to a hotel, have absolutely no idea why, it has all been a bit cloak and dagger!
Got on the scales this morning and had a shock, I am 11 pounds heavier than I want to be, no wonder my clothes are a bit tight, and last night's thai meal couldn't have helped! I need to do something about it, any ideas?
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0
