in Credit cards
Hi all, just got a quick question that will more than likely be straight forward to you guys, but, not to me.
I've recently been approved for a Barclaycard Initial Credit Card.
The card comes with 5 months 0% on purchases and that's it.
I understand the majority of details but the two areas I'm unsure about are...
A little example of what I looking to do....
Buy PS4 @ £350 onto CC
Pay Cc off after 2 months
Buy New TV £300 onto CC
Doesn't his leave me 3 months to pay the TV off or, do I get a fresh 5 months from when I bought the TV?
Sorry if you find it hard to understand what I'm asking, finding it hard to put thought down into a post

I understand the majority of details but the two areas I'm unsure about are...
- What happens after the 5 months interest free period ends (and I've paid off my ballance). do I get another 5 month on my next purchase or, does it go to a monthly basis?
- How do I send funds to Barclays to pay off my card?
- Do I need to wait till my monthly bill comes in before I can pay amount? (Can I pay what I like when I like, being in a pay weekly job, I tend to have spare money sitting around, that I'd like to just pay off my card with)

Drinking contests with humans are unbearable. They drink, they collapse, and we have to drag them back to their homes. The next day they never remember losing.

You have 5 months from account opening. It doesn't restart with each purchase.
Wait for your statement and then pay according the dates and methods on there.0 -
It'll give you 3 months on the tv.
Register online with Barclaycard and you can pay on there.
Either the full balance or extra payments.DEBT FREE AND PROUD'Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt'0 -
Worth checking the offer details in full...As some offer 0% for x period on purchases made in the first y months - so you'd have to buy the PS4 and TV at the same time.
...and, surprised as I am to be the first one to say it - it doesn't really sound like you need a credit card...only need to save for a couple of months to get what you're after.0 -
I agree with Idiophreak, just save up and buy what you want a month or two or three later!
But if you are determined to use your new bit of plastic, you must sign up so that the monthly minimum payment comes out of your account by direct debit each month. Then you can make overpayments in addition.
If you are late with one payments, not only will interest start to be charged as they will cancel the 0% offer, but you will have messed up your credit record. It's not worth the smallest risk that this might happen. You may feel sure will always remember to pay on time, but for the month when there is an illness in the family and a major crisis at work, why take the risk?0
