Help Choosing New Printer

Hello
After wasting 4 hours of my evening trying to fix my printers I now need a new one.
I did have a HP Deskjet 3050A but it all of a sudden stopped working tonight after I loaded a decent parchment paper and the dam thing keeps jamming.
Anyway I would like a printer that can do the following
1. Must be wireless
2. Print, Scan, Copy
3. Separate cartridges for black and colour
4. I like decent quality prints as I print a lot in colour
5. I print appx 25-30 pages per day in colour
6. Decent priced ink cartridges
7. Home office setup so nothing too bulky
I currently spend £20 each on the 2xl genuine hp cartridges you need for my old printer and I would like to bring that down a bit as its quite expensive.
I have no idea what the difference is between laser and inkjet.
I need one asap and would really appreciate some help on this.
Many Thanks

I have a HP 1510 PSC which has a sister with wireless, the hp 2540.
It's a great product. Excellent text quality. There doesn't seem much chance of paper jams. Prints quickly from the moment you start. Not too noisy. Only negative is that the power lead plugs into a power-supply box rather than the machine. It's compact & looks like your 3050. I like the fact that it uses two cartridges, unlike the HP 3520 & 5520 which use four (3 colour) and have had some users complaining of paper jams.
It has faster drying, bolder blacks & vivid colours using Colorlok technology.
To do a test print press the two copy buttons at the same time after switching on (they don't tell you this in the brochure). Scanning this will improve the machine's printing quality.
You can get hp 301xl genuine inks from amazon & ebay for £16. The hp 2540 can be found at google shopping (click "shopping" link) from £50 including post.
It might be a good idea to get another one in 6 month's time. That's what I plan to do.0 -
Hi Prost
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have had a look at your suggestion and I think I am going to steer away from similar models of the hp in this range simply because both me and my dad had this same printer as we got a good deal at the time and all 3 of them have only last just over a year.
The first one my dad got had to be sent back as it said error code all of a sudden then just died. Thankfully it was still in warranty. Now over a year on the exact same thing has happened to his other one.
Mine has been fine up until last night where after putting parchment 80gsm paper in it the machine just jammed and now it wont take in even normal paper.
I think I may look at other hp machines or maybe another make altogether as I have lost my confidence a bit in hp0 -
What is your budget? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I like my canon 5450 which I believe ticks your boxes.
replacement ink is expensive for most printers. i'm sure there's a Which? article on the subject if you search for itFriendly greeting!0 -
Brother DCP / MFC Range
wouldn't recommend anything else0 -
As you obviously use your printer a lot, there is little danger of blocked print heads so I would be tempted to get a Canon or Epson with fixed print heads (ie the cartridges are only ink and not ink/head combined), and fit a constant ink source kit.
I too had a 3050A but only used it occasionally, which inkjet printers are no good for. I also had 2 faulty cartridges in a row where one colour would fade out halfway down a photo due to not being vented properly. I replaced it with a Pantum b/w laser £40 (which you can store away for 6 months and it'll still work when you need it again) and if I need photo's get ASDA to do them.Out on blue six..
It's Chips and Jackets, Peas and Trousers.0
