Frog tape painting disaster!!

Having newly decorated my front room I decided to use frog tape to mask between the wall and skirting board. I gave the wall a good 3-4 days to fully dry first.

On carefully peeling the tape off it's bought strips of paint off with it!! Some bits look great, just the two foot bald patches I'm not happy with! Any ideas how to fix or should I just layer paint up with a brush to try to match?

I've only peeled off one wall so far so god knows what the others will look like! :(

You need to peel the tape off while the paint is still wet to avoid this happening.

I have a large patch like this that I have tried to build up with paint, but after at least 10 coats it still looks horrible. I am now going to leave it to dry for a few weeks and then try to gently sand the join down and then repaint over it.

is the frog tape on the wall or on the skirting board?

and how long did you leave the tape on the surface ?
  • Was it the green Frog tape or the yellow? The yellow one is specifically for newly painted walls. If it was the yellow, might be worth dropping Frog tape a letter.

I'm a bit confused as to what the two foot bald patches are though..
