in Credit cards
My girlfriend seem to have loyalty to cooperative bank she has her account with them and her credit card with them. last year she sold her house so she paid off £10k off my mortgage and she paid off my £2000 credit card and i paid off her £4500 credit card by transfering it to my 0% mbna card and we have since paid off £1000 off this balance. She has now re accumilated £2800 on her coop card which has a 17% and i keep telling her to pay it off as she does still have funds from her house sale but she says she doesnt mind paying some interest. The coop has now raised her limit to £10k and she only works part time. she has good credit and could easy get any 0% card to use.
How do i make her see that loyalty to a bank is a thing of the past.
I have changed bank 4 times in the last 10 years and am now with first direct(£125 switch) and was with coop(£100 switch)
I would like to get a joint card which i could keep on top of

Why does she want to pay interest ?
By the way, you can't get a joint card.0 -

Funny, I was surveyed today by YouGov on behalf of the co-op. Loads of questions about what I thought about co-op's values - should they share profit with "members", "customer", "the community" etc.
Personally I don't think the Co-op or Nationwide are better than any "traditional" shareholder owned entity, perhaps worse. But I have a couple of friends who swear by the co-op having better ethics etc.
Perhaps that's your girlfriend's motivation? It "says something" about her principles. She is buying into their way of doing things and wants to stick to them for that reason (rightly or wrongly)??0 -

What you are looking for is called a supplementary card. This is where you have an account and they give you additional cards for friends and family. The extra cards have different card numbers but all of the spending goes into the same account.
Not all card issuers give them out. American Express do but you'll have to do some research to find out which other companies offer this.0 -

Not necessarily. The OH is an additional cardholder on my Capital One account and their card has the same number and CCV.0 -
Some additional cards have the same details as the primary card and others have their own details - it depends on the issuer.
As others have said, your other half's loyalty is misplaced. I'm sure it's not reciprocated by Co-op and paying 17% whilst savings will be getting a fraction of that is foolish.
The Co-op bank is partially owned by a cooperative and is not a coop itself. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
