Cheap and cheerful break in April.. Any ideas? Are the Canaries warm in April?!

Hi,
My partner has been told his 2 week military leave is in the middle of April, which is a bit of a shame as that appears to be when half term is so the prices are a lot higher! We were hoping his leave would be in summer.
Does anyone know where would be okay weather-wise in April? Would ideally like somewhere warm, as I would like to be able to sunbathe!
I was thinking the Canaries? But I've not been before.. does anyone know what the weather would be like? We're on a pretty tight budget (£250pp).
Thanks all!
Edit: Success! See post below for my holiday

Weather Underground is good for checking historic weather at specific locations, looking at Tenerife for April it's not as warm as I might have expected - the average maximum across the month seems to be about 17 centigrade, although in 2013 it was 21. I think the temperature will generally increase as the month goes on.

It's actually warmer in the south of Spain, Malaga seems to be around 21 - 22 centigrade.
The problem for you may be school holidays, with Easter being 18th - 21st April, if the schools being shut overlaps your partner's leave then you might find that £250 pp won't be anywhere near enough.0 -
What are the dates for the holiday?

That link was for Tenerife as a whole and given it has some very high ground averages are going to be low
Most people will go to the south of the island where the temps are usually very pleasant indeed in April

oh dear we've been trawling the internet and if you are stuck to term times the flights are very costly (and believe me i've checked for every different daily price.
When you say mid-April do you have any dates yet as sometimes you can sneek in a deal if you are happy to take an awkward flight.
As for warm weather - pot luck at the moment we like Tunisia but the flights are very expensive now so we may have to wait till next year.
Whatever just have quality time together.
Best wishes.

I go to the Canary Islands every winter and have always found sunshine , however I don't think it will be possible on your budget sadly .0 -

Unfortunately the dates have to be between 7th-20th April.. which just so happens to be the half term break
I'm pretty gutted to be honest. It was the only thing I had to look forward to
We could fly from Luton or Birmingham. But I think I'll give up looking now I've seen the prices! Will have to wait another year.♥ Blogger at Victoria's Vintage Blog ♥0 -

Yup that's the Easter holidays then.
But weather wise it will be fine. It was over 25 every day when we went in march.0 -

The link was actually for Tenerife North airport, but I see that's at over 600m altitude so I'd imagine sea level temperatures are more in line with the link you gave.0 -
I know I posted this about 6 weeks ago now, but just to let you all know I persevered to hunt a holiday. I ended up in the most beautiful hotel called Santa Barbara on the south of the island for a week at the end of March, £250pp self catering! The hotel was 4* and perfect
And the weather was also lovely!
