The Old Style board would seem to be a more appropriate place for this question.0

Sam Stern has a recipe/cookbook for students which is pretty good.0

try having a look on the old style moneysaving board. Also look up Jack Monroes blog "a girl called jack" as she has some supercheap really nice meal ideas. Good things to start with are things like spag bol etc and for simple basic home cooking I don't think you can go too far wrong with Delia. Keep a look out at charity shops etc as you can often find some good cookbooks there for a fraction of the price. DO you have anything you can cook at all? Was just thinking if you and a group of friends all know how to cook one or two things you could get together as a group and teach each other how to cook the things that you wach know. It's cheaper if you all contribute to one big meal, it's nice and social and also a good way to share skills.Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0
