Looking for peoples experience/recommendations for large good sized family car (as much flexible/adaptable space possible) good build quality, that will give very good MPG/low running (Tax/MOT/Insurance and maintenance costs)

Been Considering cars like Citreon Berlingo/Dispatch Combi. Renault Kangoo/Peugeot partner/Expert.

Also Suggestions for any size good family 5 door car that give very good mpg with low running (Tax/MOT/Insurance and maintenance costs) Diesel or petrol. Mixed Driving/Average yearly mileage.

People Recommendation/information on the different Diesel car Engines available.
I.E Best MPG, Reliability (manufacturer build quality) power, torque, cost to maintain.

Peoples recommendation on different car manufacturers/reliability/build. Maintenance costs ect.

What preferences people have/why?

What preferences of petrol stations? providing better quality petrol than others? Give better MPG performance?

Does anyone regularly use extra additives like Redex to fuel or car to help give best MPG.

People opinions or Anyone regularly use the better grade fuel that claims better MPG that's available at petrol stations?

Good value for money? Give Better mpg? Better for car engine? ect

Skoda Octavia 1.9Td. I managed to average a surprising 68.9 mpg in mine in the 9 months I owned it.

Other possibilities could be Citreon Berlingo (or Nemo) My low miles '08 1.6 HDI (90 bhp) averages 60 mpg.
Citreon Picasso - slightly smaller than Berlingo with better mpg as a result).
Mondeo estate
Fiat Doblo or Multipla
Any Ford Focus
Vauxhall Zafira (rear seats fold into boot floor and middle row of seats can be moved back for extra leg room)

AVOID Ford Transit Connect as it can only manage 37mpg.

Was that a 1.9 TDI PD, or one of the pre-PD 1.9 TDIs (ALH engine code I think)? 68.9 mpg is very atypically high for a 1.9 TDI PD, mid to high 50s mpg is more usual. Probably not, but any chance the 68.9 mpg is from the trip computer rather than brim-to-brim mpg?

I drive a 1.9 TDI PD Octavia. I have achieved 70 mpg+ on occasion for long trips at 60 mph, but not always, and to average this seems a very big ask. My own average is lower than it could be due to a 9 miles each way daily sub-urban commute, but FWIW this is what I actually achieve, and I do work hard to drive economically:
