I went and did a weekly shop in Aldi at the weekend. I will never set foot in an Aldi again *shudder*
I can see why people might not like Aldi, but if you get used to what is good value and and decent quality in there then you can save a fortune. I tend to believe that all the fresh fruit and veg, dairy products and hams are fine and much cheaper. Plus the bread biscuit products. But most other things I steer clear from.0 -
As long as you can do your shop in Aldi quickly then all is well. Want to spend a little time browsing and making your mind up? Watch out for a piece of loo paper* through the post from ParkingEye.
* They call it a fine, a Parking Charge Notice or similar. But it carries as much legal authority as loo paper.(See my sig).

It's about an hour and a half or two hours isn't it. It's impossible to take longer than that to shop at an Aldi!0 -

It depends on the store - in some the free "parking"* time is only an hour; in others it may be up to 3 hours.
But what if you are disabled or have some other condition covered by the Equality Act 2010? Such people may take much longer to do their shopping.
* "Parking" is enforced by ANPR cameras. All these do is record time on site; they in NO WAY AT ALL record PARKING time.0 -

You spend that long queuing in some branches.0 -

I don't know if I just haven't been to the right Aldi's, but every branch I have been in to is not sufficient for a full weekly shop.
It's alright to run in and pick up bread/milk/cereal, but I find if I go in with a list, I only ever get half of the stuff and need to go elsewhere!
And I don't believe some of their branding. We have a game in our house to guess when we have bought Aldi branded washing up liquid instead of Fairy (it gets decanted into another bottle). Nobody has yet been fooled by the Aldi brand!0 -

Although, apparently, the dishwasher tablets have just come out and beaten just about every branded one out there. Fruit and veg is good from Aldi, better quality and lasts longer than the stuff from Tesco's round here0 -
. Profuse apologies and a refund. Happy! Go to Tescos the next day - cruise part 'reduced' section of chiller - and see the poussin I had brought back the day before, back on the shelf and for sale! I could see the gash where I had pierced the film with my knife. I had returned it as unfit to eat and I had frozen it previously. And Tescos were selling it!
Have not bought meat from them since.
.
Where they not two days past their "use by date" if you bought them in the reduced section? Which most stores do there best to avoid.
That would not be a Tesco policy as its a big fine, just inept person.
Though why did you freeze it, if using the next day?0 -
